I just did the tapping in this video. I wasn't feeling stressed beforehand, but I did have a sinus headache. It's gone now, it was pretty amazing how my sinuses just cleared up!

Hi Rozcar, I learnt TM 5yrs ago, had initial great results. I was still quite a shy person and it brought me out of myself. I felt all of the benefits the literature deascribes about TM and more. I must get back to practicing TM more. namaste! :-)

Oops, hit enter before I finished my response. :) I was going to add that I too am in a teacher training program and came into it the same way you did. I started with an immersion program, then decided to go all the way with the 200 hour training. I LOVE being in the learning space, learning about the 8 limbs, reading the Sutras more, but I am terrified of becoming an actual teacher. I know I have been blessed with a gift and my resistance is a sign that this is what I'm supposed to be doing, but I'm still scary about it at times. I've been avoiding practice teaching like the plague, but finally made myself commit to working with a co-worker twice a week starting next week. I have all the desire in the world to push past this fear...I just have to make it happen. I appreciate having others to share this journey with!

Hrmm.. That doesn't sound right. Maybe she means you must keep active and aware? But there is no reason why you can't stay aware and be relaxed! The concentration and focus it takes to hold even a strong pose is a meditation in itself and ultimately very relaxing for both mind and body..

Fast-Paced? No, Not Really

If I read one more article talking about how fast-paced the world is now, I think I will scream. Seriously, what is moving at a faster pace? Are we waking up faster? Going to sleep faster? It starts with a creak. I ignore it. Another creak, this time in the other knee. Nothing. I push myself up from the couch and tell myself that's how I always get up. No big deal. Walking to the kitchen I feel a weird twinge in my right knee. I can't remember the last time I had parsnips, but I'm going to have them this week, because they followed me home from the produce store today. Since I don't think I've ever cooked parsnips, had to go hunting the interwebs for a recipe. Found this one, http://www.simplyrecipes.com/recipes/roasted_parsnips/

Start of Week 3 of Yoga Teacher Training

I have completed two full weeks of teacher training and today I am experiencing some physical discomfort and less than optimal energy levels. In other words

There, that felt good. When I say pain, I guess I really mean achy, mainly in my hips and shoulders (yay for holding asta pranam for 2 minutes straight! That's not an exaggeration, unfortunately.) My shoulder strength ...

Yoga Not Relaxing?

The other day I remembered one of the oddest things I'd ever heard in a yoga class. It was in a gym setting, and before that moment I'd thought the teacher was pretty good. But, as we were moving through the sequence and people were falling out all over the place, she said "Yoga isn't supposed to be relaxing!" Uh, okaaayyyy...

Obviously, taken out of context that sounds strange and yes, it affected my view of the teacher, but was she right or wrong?  To this day, I'm not so sure. Thou...

We think a lot about physical fitness, but how often do we consider our mental wellness? Normally we only consider its opposite, mental illness, but to put more than a "positive spin" on the subject, isn't mental wellness as important as our physical fitness?

  • You get up early for yoga, and have a glass of water or coffee or if you're feeling especially virtuous, herbal tea.
  • Ahhh, yoga time
  • 'Om' your way home
